 Eb Clarinet Case Leads

I am in need on a new case for my Selmer Eb. I understand that some Eb Buffet cases are on the market in the $175 range, but I was wondering if anyone knew of some attractive cases for sale under $120 or so. They seem really hard to find.

I was going to suggest getting a cheap Chinese Eb clarinet for $79.90 off eBay, binning the clarinet and using the case it came with for your own Eb until I saw the postage cost of $54.90.

I think these are the same instruments:

I had the same problem and found one at weiner music (no affiliation):

Still not cheap....but works well.

I wonder if you could email one of those companies with the Chinese Eb's and inquire about just the case...

You can purchase it on ebay if you search for "tough ballistic nylon eb clarinet case" - total cost coming from Australia is about $109 total.

The case is black with a zipper and a shoulder strap. The outside of the case also has a zippered pocket for accessories like pencils, etc. Looks pretty sturdy for the money.

The Jakob Winter Eb case you mention, does it store all parts separate? My current case has the bell and body stored together and I think it's shortening the life span of the cork. :(

I'd suspect the innards of this case are the same as the Buffet Eb cases seeing as Jakob Winter makes cases for Buffet anyway, so all the joints will most likely be separated.

Google Fred Jacobaweizt (spelling ?, sorry Fred) at Case Closed. He converted a LeBlanc double case so that it now fits my Selmer full boehm and my effer. All parts are stowed unconnected and there is even a spot for the Fobes extension. The cost was less than any of the options suggested. I am very pleased and heartily recommend Fred's work.
