The Woodwind Fingering Guide needs your help
Author: Mark Charette

The original author, Tim Reichard, of the Woodwind Fingering Guide (http://wfg.woodwind.org/) left the site unexpectedly quite some time ago and of course it's worse for the wear - no updates, corrections, etc. The internal organization is messy and it could really use someone's helping hand in becoming an even more outstanding resource.

If you are willing to put in long hours, rebuild the site, and manage all the updates the site is yours! The only restriction I have are that: you have to be willing to take it over and work on it actively for the forseeable future, and that the banners we have continue to get displayed.

More than once I've provided space and all of a sudden the site goes defunct(anyone remember Stan Geidel's very informative site?) . Sometimes life gets in the way and it's unavoidable that a site manager can't continue the responsibilities, but I'd like to make sure that it would be seamless if it happens again.

If you can handle the load and know something about web sites, send me an email at charette@woodwind.org.

Holy Cow. Good luck with that. I think the idea has huge potential, but man...the amount of effort to create and maintain that kind of resource? Salute to that human! :-)

Seriously, Mark. Good Luck. I hope someone can step forward.

A suggestion: Maybe a full-time professor at an established and successful music school could have grad students maintain and update the site as a sort of independent study? Part of the study would include passing the reigns on to the next student(s).

Possibly include professors of each of the instruments included on the site to maintain their instrument's fingerings.
