One of my high-school-age students is playing Beethoven's 5th Symphony with her school orchestra in concert in about a fortnight, and is wrestling with the C clarinet transposition in the Finale. She is making progress in this department, also (shudder) writing in the note names in her 2nd clarinet part, but I fear that we are walking the razor's edge.
Does anyone have a PDF file of the Finale transposed for Bb clarinet that I can print out for her to use?
Any help appreciated.

2 ideas.
1. Finale has a feature to import from a .TIF picture file. If you have a scanner, this would be a fast option for you. The file should be high resolution and black/white only. The page you are copying from should also be clear. It will make some mistakes but it saves time and is fairly accurate with single line music. You can check and fix the mistakes later.
Or...
2. She should set up the file with "Bb Clarinet" as the instrument. Then select the "Display in concert pitch" feature (I think this is in VIEW). Now she can enter the notes as it reads in the C clarinet part. Finally, push the "Display in concert pitch" again. This will automatically put you back to the key of the instrument and transpose everything.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't have Finale -- I have Sibelius 3 and Photo-Score. I was hoping not to have to go to all that trouble if possible -- maybe someone else has already done the "skut Work" for lazy me!

It would be nice if this kind of thing could be publicly available somewhere. Yes, I know the copyright police will never let that happen. But isn't Beethoven in public domain?
Or is there actually no such thing as public domain -- it's one of those poorly understood fictions?

To answer Davy's question: Beethoven IS public domain (although it is possible that some editions/arrangements are not in the public domain). My transposition is in the public domain (I made it from a public domain edition I downloaded from IMSLP). There is no copyright problem with sharing it.
If somebody wants me to (and Mark doesn't mind, since it is a ~500k PDF file) I can upload it here as an attachment.

Luck's Music Library shows transposed clarinet parts available for Beethoven 5. They list at $7.
