I am going to be shipping my new clarinet via UPS over to my technician where I used to live, but I'm a little iffy on how I should go about it.
Should it be wrapped any special way? Or just placed in a small box with lots of packing peanuts?

Check the joints don't move around in the case - if they do, then lightly pack them so they don't move but aren't squashed and also make sure the keywork isn't being squashed. You can use bubble-wrap cut into wide strips to do this.
Then once you're certain the joints aren't shifting about in the case, wrap the case up in a plastic bag to provide a waterproof barrier. Then put the case in a box cushioned on every side with polystyrene chips (or "peanuts"). Best way is to first put a generous layer of chips in the bottom of the box, then put the case in and then fill all the remaining gaps around the sides and top with polystyrene chips so the case doesn't move around in the box.
Always put your own address on the side of the box and put any other paperwork in an envelope placed inside the bag the case is sealed in.

Packing peanuts can shift. I wrap the case with a 3 of layers of bubble-wrap and pack the shipping box around it with wadded-up newspaper.
FedEx (or maybe United Parcel) makes a shipping bag that you seal and then pull a tab that mixes a quick-setting foam. I'm not sure they make them big enough to fit a clarinet case, but I've had glass medicine vials shipped in it that have always come through unscathed.
Envelopes lined with bubble wrap don't seem thick enough to me, and they don't protect from crushing.
