Identifying an R13

The serial number says 615629, but when I looked it up on buffet-crampon.com, they could not find it.

The logo stamped onto the clarinet looks like a regular old stamp, just like an r13 would have. Both barrel and bell say R13 B 660, but I just want to make sure.

Buffet is far behind in updating its serial number list and database. I did a rough calculation at http://test.woodwind.org/clarinet/BBoard/read.html?f=1&i=348224&t=348185, which shows that yours is quite recent production. Walter Grabner's site http://www.clarinetxpress.com/forsale.htmldates S/N 547461 to 2005, so yours is later than that.

The "B" means that the barrel and bell are for a Bb instrument and "660" means that the barrel length is 660 tenths of a millimeter, which is standard for a Bb at 440.

I wouldn't worry if your serial number isn't on a database - if you bought it from a reputable source, there shouldn't be any doubt as to what it is.

The fake Buffets are the B12s that have 'Made in France' stamped on them as genuine B12s are made in Germany and therefore wouldn't say 'Made in France'.
