I recently ran across a Leblanc LX in a music store for $1000. I wasn't familiar it, but I was wondering if any of you had any experience with the model.

The Leblanc Co, published a review by Tom Ridenour in which he compared it with an R13 for intonation , etc. I assume it was the model upon which Ridenour developed the new line at Leblanc.

I own a Leblanc Paris LX that I won brand new on the auction site we wont name. In the 1990's, it was the top of the line for Leblanc, the last clarinet designed by Leon Leblanc before Tom Ridenour designed the Concerto and Opus.
The Feb-March 1990 issue of The Clarinet has a glowing review of the LX by Lee Gibson. He finishes this way: This is a clarinet for one who believes that tonal enhancement should not be achieved by any sacrifices of intonation or response.
I have never regretted getting this clarinet and would recommand trying it. If it works for you, make an offer. By the way, I've seen it called model L300LX and Leblanc 1185.
