Those summer outdoor concerts are fun to go to and fun to play, too. The crowds are happy and the musicians are relaxed.

Try to get up close enough to hear what's happening on the stage rather than through the speaker system.
John - Is it fair to assume that you'll be playing? Any clarinet licks we should listen for?

Hey Ken:
I wish I knew what up with the charts for next week's concert.
So far no word on what we're actually playing? We're backing-up a rock group from LA, using their charts. Maybe lots of Clarinet rock solos?
As usual in NYC, we have a dress rehearsal that day 3-6, to play thru the charts, then a concert in the Park at 8pm! There'll only be a few thousand people sitting on the lawn enjoying a summer night in NYC.
Wish me luck,
JJM

Here's the band we're playing with:
Los Angeles-based band Ozomatli collaborates with The New York Pops for a festive evening of music infused with hip hop, funk, salsa, and merengue.
