 R13 serial number
Author: na1965

I recently played a very nice R13 Greenline that had a serial number on the upper joint but no serial number on the lower joint. Does this suggest that the lower joint is a replacement joint?

Sounds very much like it, all Buffets are normally numbered on upper and lower joints.

yeah and a lot of times when the buffet factory send you a top/bottom joint replacement because of a crack, it doesn't have a serial number on it.
