 Martin Frost at Disney Hall
Author: Mom
Date:   2012-03-26 01:10

Gee you guys haven't said anything yet about Martin Frost! The Aho was impressive enough, but when he did "Let's Be Happy" I almost burst out laughing, it was that joyous and thrilling.
I don't think I will ever see another performance like that as long as I live. Even my normally somnolent hubby was on the edge of his seat.
I am looking forward to comments from all you real musicians.

I was also there last night as well. What an unbelievable performance. I'm so glad I spent the money to go see him perform. He is one of only two clarinetists, in my opinion, that just doesn't have ANY limits. None whatsoever. The orchestra KILLED Der Rosenkavalier and Sibelius 6! What an unbelievable concert!!!

So who's the other clarinettist with no limits?

I love Frost, I saw him play Copland, Hillborg and a few other things in the Sydney Opera House last year :)

My other one would have to be Bob Spring.

I'll agree with Kari Krikku as well. You might as well throw Charles Neidich and Mate Bekavac as well. But I think Bob Spring and Fröst are my faves!

Yea, Spring and Fröst rule! Good for Sweden to have someone to proud of. However, personally I find Fröst a little bit too artistic-minded with his sometimes strange dances and outfits.
