Saint-Saens. Sym. # 3 TEMPO

Could someone please give a indicative performance tempo for the staccato passage that comes after 'A' in the first movement, and also for movement II.
I am keeping tempo using dotted quater notes

That's a really nice symphony! One of my favorites!I performed with my orchestra just once, some years ago.
About tempo, I would say between 70 to 80 dotted quarter note. I do not have a metronome with me right now, but most of the versions I've listened to are about that speed.

The edition of the score available at IMSLP shows the following:

1st movement: dotted quarter = 72.

2rd movement: dotted quarter = 80 to start with, dotted quarter = 132 at the Presto.

That's what's printed, anyway.
