Now, I know that anything playable on the soprano clarinet is "technically" possible to do on the bass clarinet, but this...?

As someone who has played more bass than soprano clarinet over the years, I find it technically easier to play just about anything on bass. If you pointed a gun to my head and ordered me to play the Francaix or Nielsen or whatever on some sort of clarinet, I'd pull out the bass.
