 A reminder please

I vaguely remember that a cosmetic product was recommended by someone on the board as the best thing for cleaning tone holes. I need such a cleaner but cannot remember what it was. Thanks for help.

Is this the kind of product that is also good for removing the hard plaque that builds up supposedly on the underside of tone holes?

I'm answering my own question ! Just been told by a fellow bandsman that it is women's eye makeup remover. I've no idea what it contains.

I've had great luck with Q-tips. Put a tiny bit of water on them. It sometimes take 3 to 4 per hole if the horn is really in need of a cleanup.

For the octive key metal hole I like pipe cleaners. Q-tips won't fit in this hole.

Also fingernail polish remover on a Q tip or folded pipe cleaner. ESP eddiesclarinet.com

Most eye makeup removers contain a light oil but the bottle must be shaken to mix the oil with the rest of the ingredients.

If you know anyone who works a makeup counter, see if she/he can get you one of their sample bottles of eye makeup remover. Those usually come with the gift-with-a-purchase promos.
