The parts are probably available for rental only.

That's a shame, I was invited to perform as soloist with a string chamber orchestra, and my first thought was the Finzi Bagatelles, they are just beautiful..
Any suggestion about what could I play with string orchestra that is not under copy right..?

Available as rental parts from B+H at some considerable cost... last time i looked it wasn't listed on their website and you had to email them asking about it- but the parts ARE rentable... d

"what could I play with string orchestra that is not under copy right..?"

Ernest John Robertson has made his 1989 concerto op. 27 available on IMSLP.

Perhaps you could adapt your favorite baroque oboe conerto?

And of course there's the Adagio by Baermann (formerly attributed to Wagner).

Yes, Davyd, I was considering the Baermann Adagio, anyone happen to have the particellas of this work? IMSLP only has a full score...

I didn't compare the scores closely but, it appears, the violin/viola/cello parts in the orchestral adaptation are the same as the corresponding parts in the Clarinet Quintet version. If that's the case, the only missing part is the bass part and, if you look at the score, you will see: (1) it's pretty simple and (2) the piece, itself, is short. You should be able to write out a bass part pretty quickly. But this piece is much shorter than the Bagatelles.

IMSLP also has the parts (but no score that I can find) for Spohr's Fantasy and Variations for Clarinet and Strings. Perhaps you could do both works.

Best regards,
jnk

The entry for the Adagio under Heinrich Baermann's name has home-made string parts (except the bass) that are just as good as what you can buy.

Try the concertino (3 short mvts) for clarinet and strings by John Ritchie (recorded by Marina Sturm with the NZ Chamber Orchestra, i think). It's great. dn

I've just checked the IMSLP library. The only piece there of Gerald's is for oboe and string quartet, nothing for us. What were they thinking? [huh]
