 Mendelssohn Op. 113 graces
Author: Bob Phillips
Date:   2012-02-08 21:03

In the Presto, last movement of this piece:
In he 11th full measure, the clarinet has a trill with two grace notes leading to the 2nd beat.

In the 13th measure, vitrually the same motif is repeated, but without the grace notes! There are other places where the trills are ended with and without the grace notes.

Does anyone differentiate between these markings?

It all goes by so fast in the recordings that I can't be certain; and I'm really not sure it matters (except to my audition committee).

Thanks

Bob Phillips
