"False" 4th Line D or Alternate Fingering
Author: Claire Annette

Silent practicing while the family's asleep, so I can't experiment aloud. In an incredibly fast passage of eighth notes, I'm required to jump from throat tones G# and A to 4th line D and back to throat tones G#, G, then first space F.

Isn't there a side key combination for the D, in this scenario?

Nope, but keep your right hand down from the throat tones to the D and back.

Fewer fingers to move.

That's what I'd do, too. You can also keep your left hand ring finger down, too, which might help you keep your left hand from losing its bearings as it makes the transition between notes.

I agree, no alternate for the D. ESP eddiesclarinet.com

Dang.

Thanks for the suggestions, though.
