a couple of my friends have a small band. it only an amature thing. if i want to join as a clarinetist, im going to need to meet with the leader of the band and have kinda a 1 on 1. he wants to see what i can do, how i sound, ect. this isnt a once in a life time opportunity, i can join later if i do poorly, but their next thing is in a month and i want to play with them by then- whic means, giving 2 or 3 weeks for practice, i want to join now. what should i know? scales, songs, cmon help me out here!

Probably you should ask the leader (or have your friend ask the leader) what he'd like to hear. Chances are, whatever you normally practice will tell him what he needs to know.
