 Is it a Buffet R13?
Author: gzirin

I'm trying to determine what model Buffet I have. I've looked up the serial number (253588) on the Buffet website and all it shows me is the following:

BC 1131
2/10/84

Can anyone confirm that this is a R13? There are no numbers on the top or bottom joints that denote a model, but it does say made in France.

Thanks

BC 1131 designates an R13 Bb clarinet. An R13 will not have any model designation (i.e., will not be marked R13) on the front of any of the sections. However, for some years (but not all -- offhand I don't know the years when this was the case), a very small model number, 1131, appears on the back of the barrel of a Bb R13.

Best regards,
jnk
