I (finally) bought a stand for my bass clarinet. I went with the Hercules DS560B (the one with the bell contact point as well as the body). I like the stand very much, but I need suggestions for something to carry it in. When the stand is folded up, it's a little over 27" long, so I figure a bag/case that's 30" will do. It also needs to be wide enough to accomodate the part that holds the bell (so a ouple inches wider than the widest part of a bass clarinet bell).
What do you guys recommend? My Bb/A clarinets (which would most likely be with me, too) would be on my back with my peg stand attached on a carabiner (hence the nickname "Pegs of Death" since they swing somewhat freely when I walk). Bass clarinet case handle would be in my left hand and my bag of other stuff over my right shoulder. So, while I could carry something in my right hand, I'd prefer to be able to throw it over my shoulder.
Suggestions?
