How high can you people play your chromatic scale up to. Talking about me. On a regular Bb clarinet i can play my chromatic scale from a low E (E3) all the way up to Double High F flat (Fb7). Fb7 is a really, really piercing and shrill note, and it is pretty difficult to get up there. I dont expect you guys play up to that high, but anyways tell me how high you guys can go up to.

There is the Ginistera and Wagner (Fire music?) that swirl up to a double C but I usually only get to the 'A' below that. Not much call for anything higher really.

Can you top this: I can hit that double high F flat while writing E=MC squared with chalk on a blackboard while playing “Flight of the Bumblebee” plunking a low E on a piece of twine tied to a broomstick stuck in a galvanized steel wash tub.

True story--our community band often borrows music from area high schools.
Recently seem penciled in the first clarinet part: " B normal."
It was either a command or a reminder not to play Bb.

E3 up to C7, one breath--down, as well. Big deal....just takes a little practice. It's playing musically that is more important.

I've been playing two weeks precisely, and can just about manage F on the top line of the staff. Attempting anything beyond that makes my teeth explode and my nose fall off.

For the record, Einstein got it wrong (but Stravinsky got it right). In reality:
E = D## = D#²

Of course it has a bearing on clarinets. When the proper string enters the black hole (a.k.a., bore), it can convert a Bb clarinet to an A clarinet by perturbing the relativity of the instrument's bore size relative to its tone hole locations.

Well, if I begin on my bass, low C, switch to Bb and than to Eb clarinet I have a pretty big range. As far as one on clarinet, who really cares. ESP

I only practice once in a while in scales to double high A (A6)
I can't recall any music higher than that off the top of my head.
i think all the glass in the house would shatter if i went (or could go) any higher.
