 BG Reed Saver

I saw an ad for the BG Reed Saver.

Aside from it being more non slip for the ligature, and possibly preventing any "crush" of the reed from an over tight ligature, what's the benefit of it?

Anybody tried one?

I saw the ad and a promo from Muncy Winds as well.

I had the same questions. Could a piece of mouthpiece patch, piece of tape, etc have the same result (if there is one)?

I suppose that someone will tell me that this is made from a high tech space age specially made resonant material!

Just viewed the video.

It struck me as a solution looking for a problem.
