 Is my clarinet a fake!
Author: RyanD

I just bought a hybrid bliss for pepband last night. I plays beautifly and has amazing responce. The thing is that while looking online to see if i got a good deall i came across a picture of what i thought i bought. Ok so my clarinet looks exactly like the pictures with having bliss written on the barrel and bell but unlike the picture it dosent have it written on the upper joint! Is mine fake or is the picture inacurate?

Define "hybrid Bliss". It could be that you bought a Bliss bell and barrel mated to another clarinet. FWIW every Leblanc Bliss I've seen has had both the Bliss and the Leblanc logo on the upper joint.

Its the one with a composite body and bell and wood barrel. It looks exactly like the pictures with blackish keys and the little mettel circle between theupper and lower joint. I called it a hybrid because thats what prowinds calls it and thats where i saw the picture.

OK, so it's either an L310 or L320. If this is a brand new instrument then it's possible the logo situation has changed. The last time I same one was when Backun was still in partnership with Leblanc and his name was listed below the Leblanc logo. Now that the Leblanc-Backun partnership has ended it's possible they have eliminated the upper joint logo. Dave Kessler responded to a thread about these clarinets a few days ago. Since he's a dealer and knows the whole story about what's going on with the Bliss line you may want to consider sending him an e-mail.
