Hi guys
I am looking for information on composer Dejan Despic, composer of 'Neun Tanze' or Nine Dances for Solo Clarinet Op.62, 1976.
Information returned by search engines is usually in another language (Yugoslavian or German) and when translated, shows little information, and either this guy was also in politics or there is another Dejan Despic involved in Yugoslavian/Russian politics...
A push in the right direction would be much appreciated!

He is a Serbian composer, Proffesor at the Belgrade Music Academy. Born in 1930.
Composing in neo-classical style, his main interests are concertos, chamber and piano music.
Writes musical theory books aswell. In brief. Let me know if you are interested about details.

Yes, Despic is a Serbian composer, Professor at the University of the Arts in Belgrade (retired), full member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the secretary of its Department of Fine Arts and Music. He wasn't involved in politics. You can find useful links here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dejan_Despic.
Nine Dances were written for, dedicated to, and first performed by Milenko Stefanovic, probably the most significant Serbian and Yugoslavian clarinetist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milenko_Stefanovic). The first performance of this composition took place at the Kolarac Concert Hall in Belgrade, on March 3, 1977. (I have a copy of review written by M. Vukdragovic, and published in Politika Ekspres newspaper three days later.) The composition was first published by the Association of Composers of Serbia (http://www.serbcompo.org.rs/).
