I depends on what kind of sound you are striving for and what reeds you are using. You can play on all of them with 3.5 Vandorens except the B45, because it works lighter reeds. On the M13 you might like strength 4 either. Generally B45 and M30 considered to have a darker sound than M15 and M13. My personal favourite among the types you mentioned is the B45 with traditional 3 or V12 3.

There oughta be a "save-get" key programmed for this question.
2E, of course, is correct.
And, of course, sonicbang is correct is asking what kind of sound you're striving for.
Even if you told us what reed(s) you prefer, what mouthpiece you're using now, what barrel(s) you have and what kind(s) of music you play, no one would be able to give you a satisfactory answer.
Call up The Woodwind and Brasswind (wwbw.com), order them all and play them. Get a teacher or a good player to listen to you. Then decide whether 1) any of them feel comfortable enough for you and 2) if you sound the way you want to sound.
Good luck.

For me: am M30 that has been refaced and had the baffle raised.

Your mileage will vary.

Ed I've played a mouthpiece that gave me a fabulous tone but intonation was poor so I say tone is definitely not the first thing to look for in a mouthpiece.

Quick guide for tone seekers on specific mouthpieces.
Buy it and sound just like the pros instantly, or your money back.

B45: Acker Bilk, Reginald Kell, Stanley Drucker
M13: Auguste Perrier, Thea King, Richard Hosford
M15: Jack Brymer, Emma Johnson, Karl Leister
M30: Jon Manasse, Wolfgang Meyer

Or maybe not.

FWIW, I am among those who believe that you will (eventually) sound like yourself regardless of your setup. However, some setups will be better suited to you and make it easier for you to do what you want/have to do.

I think a good tone is better achieved by having a clear concept of what you want. I have been influenced by those whose sounds I admired: Harold Wright, Robert Marcellus, Karl Leister, Jon Manasse, Tom Martin (who I believe plays a B45) and Pete Fountain. With a concept in mind, I believe that working on embouchure, air support, voicing and reeds is likely to have a more pronounced effect on tone production than will most mouthpieces.

There really is no way to know what setup will best facilitate you producing your best sound without trying out a wide variety in a controlled, systematic manner (which of course could take some time).

Your mouthpiece list excludes several that are also capable of producing a fine sound: B40 [Lyre], 5RV [Lyre], M13 Lyre, M30 Lyre and the newest facing, the Masters (CL4, CL5). It is important to realize that these all these models represent a spectrum of philosophy in not only tone, but sound production, response, intonation and reed selection/adjustment. Comparing a mouthpiece with a long/close facing (e.g., M13) to a mouthpiece with a med-long/med-open facing (e.g., B45, B40) is difficult unless you know how to select/adjust NEW reeds for each so that the comparisons are fair and objective.

Having a good teacher or colleague to help you select and get the most out of your equipment is always a good idea.

Good Luck!

> Which of these will give you the best tone?

Two answers in addition to the above wise words:

1.) What are you playing now?

2.) Which will give ME the best tone? (yes, facetious I know :P) Probably B45 because I was brought up on open mouthpiece / soft reed, and would have to retrain (and buy new reeds) to get the best out of the M-series. In fact I have a B45 dot which gives me excellent tone... but it tends to play flat and overblow at the worst possible moment.
