Hi all,
I successfully auditioned to conduct the University Wind Band next year, and my DREAM would be to get the wind band to play from Bernard Herrmann's excellent score for the 1963 film "Jason and The Argonauts" (for excerpts see here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3qq02V7fVA )
I recognize that, not only is this piece relatively obscure, but that a wind band score may not even exist. I'm also pretty stumped for other ideas.
My question is can anyone point to to where a suitable score may be purchased, if at all? Or you know, any suggestions for music at all (I'm totally stumped and the conductor's meeting is this thursday, oh dear ... )

rental comes to just over $500. Pretty steep. I'll get on the blower to Cambridge University Music Society and have a browse of their library. Worst comes to worst, I quite fancy doing Paris Sketches.
