Bravo David !!

I enjoyed the entire performance - well done. My wife Nancy and I were very much impressed with the Shepherd since this is our most favorite piece for performance (Nancy is a lyric soprano). We do it at least once a week just for our own enjoyment.

Thanks so much for sharing.

Gene

Really, really nice particularly the 2nd movement. Standing O!

Blummy -

Fine playing. I liked the way you matched the soprano's phrasing, in the Schubert, and I loved your cellist and how you worked off of one another in the Beethoven.

You handled the little problems of any live performance perfectly -- the cell phone obbligato at the start of the Beethoven finale and when the elephant fainted and crashed to the floor a few bars in.

Give us more.

I really appreciated the standing O. The Beethoven was on the first half, so they weren't even getting up to leave. ;)

Very nice and thanks for posting these. Remember, in the words of the immortal Dizzy Dean: "It ain't bragging if you done it."

Not here - most everybody's done it on Woodwind.org

I'm just glad that I was able to record it.

Fine performance (despite my computer's obsolete sound card taking frequent bathroom breaks)! I like your vigorous style of playing. (Can't stand namby-pamby interpretations of Beethoven....)

Good view of you and James Cooper III. You're both enjoyable to watch. This bb has had those threads about musicians who move too much or not enough -- seems to me you get it right. You both look as if you're into the music, neither suppressing yourselves nor staging a melodrama. I was sorry not to be able to see David Lofton play, since the piano is part of a real trio, not an accompaniment, but the occasional glimpses of audience shoes on the left of the screen made clear that you had limited places available to put the camera.

You were gracious about how you handled the cell phone solo between movements. That crash a few seconds later made me think either someone brained the guy with the phone or else the Phantom of the Opera dropped the chandelier.

Quite lovely and I agree with my friend Gene about the interplay with the soprano. I could see you watching her very closely.

Very nice.

It's all about the ensemble :). Quite often I see Clarinet Vs Soprano instead of a dialogue between the two, and with the piano also.

I had 2 1/2 week to get it up from not having played it for 28 years to the day when I was asked to perform it.

At first, my blood sugar was 300 for a couple of days from it.....once I had it down, I relaxed.
