I've heard a lot about this clarinet... great tuning, scale, and tone... But why discontinued?
or am i just mistaken?

What about the CSG (non-H) - is that still in production? It's only the keywork plating that's the difference between them.

The only difference between the CSG and the CSG-H is the hamilton plating. From what I've seen they now have the CSGII available in the US featuring a low E/F tuning key with option Eb alternate key. It's supposed to be the next generation of the CSG. On the Yamaha Europe website they are offering the CSGIII, featuring the same improvements as the CSGII plus a raised left hand third finger tone hole and some other internal improvements, according to the site.
Perhaps they are just weeding out the older model to make room for the CSGII and III.

I think that the CSG-H has just been put into the same category as the CSG, and just ask for the optional plating, rather than it just being it's own entity on their website.
