I hope you don't mind me posting on this forum which is something not exactly related to the clarinet:
The House Music Competition at my school is in September, and I have been allocated the role of writing the Ensemble music. This involves arranging well known pieces of music into a complete medley, but they all have to be related...
previous ideas have been 'Wild Wild West!', 'The Works of Hans Zimmer', and 'Michael Jackson Medley'...
it has to be 5 minutes long, and currently, my ideas are Game Show Theme Tunes, The works of John Williams, and the works of John Barry (this one in particular, as it is fitting with his recent death)
i wonder if anyone could think of anymore ideas? Thank you!

House Music Competition as in a Competition of "House Music"? Sweet!
Williams medleys are way overdone. A John Barry one also seems a bit too obvious, as Bond music medleys abound.
How about Monty Python?

I figured that was probably the case... wishful thinking. I still think using a bunch of Python music would be cool. Some of the dramatic fanfares from Holy Grail, Sir Robin's song, Knights of the Round Table, Always Look at the Bright Side of Life, the Sousa march they use for the theme of Flying Circus, Lumberjack, etc.
Along the same lines, you could go for stuff from Mel Brooks films...

What about Eurovision tunes (either all winners/all UK entries/a mixture)?
May be "Waterloo" segues into "A little Peace" followed by "Puppet on a String"?

I don't think you are stretching yourself enough. What about a tribute to the music used in Russian Folk dance? Or inspirational tunes by Ravi Shastri? The five minute thing might get in the way, but I'm sure you could do a few of fine yodeling tunes too. quality stuff that just never gets the recognition it deserves.

A tribute to A Clockwork Orange (Wendy Carlos) would be way cool to do...
;)
This is a genuine signature.
