This video is all kinds of awesome, not least smoking and playing while holding a cigarette.
No to mention the diamond encrusted clarinets.

Shall we call upon Morrie Backun or Tom Ridenour to weigh in their opinions on the acoustical properties of this new material TaBoDi (TAr coated BOre with DIamond encrusted outer wall)?

This calls for some reflection . . . so I'll "table" it and "cut" out.

What's worse than an encrusted clarinet?

Two encrusted clarinets.

Notwithstanding whatever humour might be gained from diamonds and cigarettes, can anyone advise about the type pickups these guys are using on their clarinets?

I like the diamonds and, unfortunately, all this time after quitting, I still have a fondness for cigarettes. I don't smoke them anymore but I still love to smell them burning.

Yes I'm wondering about the pick-ups too -. I have put roses all over my barrel, it is really fun to do (using stickers, anything you want) and it doesn't change the tone at all. So far have not been able to afford diamonds though. When in doubt, decorate!

The dueling clarinetists. Fantastic, I really enjoyed that, listened to the entire thing, could not take my eyes or ears off it, they are terrific. I especially love the laid back guitar player, why get excited right? I just loved the clarinet playing, especially when the white jacket guy lit up. That was done many times in the "old days", don't see that much these days tough, especially in the symphonies, they don't like us to smoke during the concerts. ;-) No, I gave up smoking 45 years ago.
