 what is the best mouthpieces?

hi, i study clarinet in Italy,
I want to change mouthpiece, now i play with "Vandoren B45" but now I want one more closed,

what is the best mouthpiece?
you like Lomax Classic?

I ask you because in Italy Vandoren mouthpieces are used almost exclusively, but in my opinion are among the worst,

many Vandoren reeds do not work,so I use Rico Reserve , do you like it?
and what is the best ligature for a dark sound?

(sorry for the mistakes, but I know very little English, I translated with google translate)

there is no "best" mouthpiece, each one is different and has different characteristics to it to find the "best" one for you you'd have to try them all and find the right one. and just a side note i play on vandoren mouthpieces and reeds they are definatly not the worst mouthpieces/reeds out there

btw bonades are my fav ligature

Let your teacher (when you come to the US) guide you. I have a Mouthpiece ajd Barrel sampler which has about 15 of each. So a student can try many to see what works for them, and then order several to pick the best one.

I agree with David. My daughter and her teacher (a symphony player) spent several lessons over the course of a month selecting the best mouthpiece for her. It turned out to be a Vandoren M13. After they chose that model, we ordered 6 of them for trial, and she picked out the best one. Ithas done her well through most of high school,as well as two years at music school. Vandorens are like any other mouthpiece... there will be good ones and not so good ones. For her playing style at the time, it worked very well.

I read (wrongly) that you were coming to the US, but that was another posting.

Talk with your teacher, or your teacher's teacher about it.

Try as many mouthpieces as you can possibly get a hold of because only you will know what's best for you. Vandoren makes so many different types and many fine players use them, some very famous. Try them with a few different reeds because one may play best with a harder reed and one with a softer reed so have several to use. Once you find the best mouthpiece for you then do the same thing with ligatures. I agree that Rico Reserves are a very good reed. I like the Rovner ligatures but they may or may not be the best for you. ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com
