Are the Pomarico mouthpieces worth the price?
I've found a sapphire crystal from a respectable dealer and i want to know if it plays as well as it is described and reviewed
this will be my first step up mouthpiece
was wondering if it is any better than a B45?

You bet your bottom dollar it will be. Well for me they are.
Make sure you try a few out though, 'cause there can be a fair bit of difference between them.

If you get a chance, play it in a big room with some people to listen to it. I find that some mouthpieces sound vastly different to me behind the clarinet than the people at the back of the hall.

Personally, I don't like the crystal mouthpieces and would stick with the B45.
I assume that is what you are currently playing on? What is so wrong with it?

A mouthpiece is only as good as it plays--and should not be evaluated by name only. Play as many different pieces, makes and models as you can and then decide.

@DNBoone: I have had the B45 for well over six years ( back when i was a beginner), recently i dropped the mp and damaged the tip of the side rail. But overall i had enjoyed playing on it

i have recently looked into purchasing a new mp, that is similar to the B45. I have read many threads on the board that have said the pomarico sapphire is somewhat similar to the B45.

I've played some Pomarico mouthpieces that were excellent. I used one for a few years. Also, some of the worst mouthpieces I've ever tried included a couple of Pomaricos that were terrible and unplayable (terrible response, stuffy).
