I have a vandoren m30 mp with a funny symbol stamped on the joint end and was curious as what it means, Ive tried all the vandoren websites and none of them mention this little symbol, anyone here seen such a symbol.
its like a 3 sitting on the three legs with a small o in the middle valley, at first I thought it might be the letter A but not sure.

Supposedly, the number indicates the "station" (presumably, the person at the factory) that finished the mouthpiece. Some sort of quality control.

You sure it's not an artsy rendition of the letter/numbers M30? I'm not the biggest MP expert in the world but the three legs could be the M, then the 3 with the 0 in the valley? Sounds like an abbreviation of some sort.
I know that sounds far fetched but the picture you painted in my head fits that.
Forgive me if I'm terribly wrong. :)

I've seen hearts, diamonds and other small symbols stamped into the ends of the tenons.

The symbol is the signature of the finisher.

My Chadash barrel has a small "S" stamped on the end (perpendicular to the joint when assembled. I wasn't sure if that was because of the reasons mentioned here or the fact that it was shortened (it used to be 66mm, but it was shorted to 64mm before I bought the clarinets that it came with).

I have seen a dolphin-like thing on my old B40.
