 Help Metal Noblet ID
Author: metalnoblet

I have come across a Metal Noblet serial 2828. It has a diamond shape logo, not raised, on the bell. Any help identifying the age or production era of this clarinet would help immensely.

I have included the following pictures to help with the identification. http://s42.photobucket.com/albums/e337/ApexTJCAN/Noblet/
Right hand plays like a sax, left hand like a clarinet. Pinkies are like a sax.

I have used the search and Google. Can't find any information on the 2xxx series of serial numbers. Any help would be appreciated.

I read somewhere that the metal clarinets were produced around the 50's.
I can't find anything either on the 2xxx numbers but what I have read sounds promising. Good luck!

Looks to me like an Albert system clarinet. That's interesting, as I didn't know they ever made Alberts.

This website says that Noblet made metal clarinets until 1972:

But it doesn't say exactly when they started making them. I'll ask the website's author about that.

OK, the author of that French website about metal clarinets said that your Albert system Noblet was made in the 1920s. These are sought after by players of early jazz.
