I've read the vandoren website. I own one. I want to know how it compares to others? When I purchased it I play tested it comparing to other vandoren mouthpieces - m30s, 5rvs, m15, b45s, and their variations. but this seemed to be the best. I know the best advice is to stick with what you play best on. But i'd like to know from a 2nd opinion. please and thank you! n_n"

What does the word (best) mean to you? Are you referring to just the sound?
The facing is on the smaller side. I think, I am not positive here, but I heard from another source that the MP is a tiny bit longer than a standard MP. This alone can darken the sound, but you may need a 1 mm smaller barrel depending on the clarinet of course. I'm not sure why Vandoren did this, because most orchestras tune between 440 to 442.
I have a M13 and it is longer than most mouthpieces and it plays that way. Tunes to 440 on my 66mm Buffet Bb. I haven't tried it on an A clarinet, because it's a new horn.

For me it has many good qualities but I'd say it is more open. I need to take in LESS of this mouthpiece since it has a substantially shorter lay than most mouthpieces I usually use. In the end, as a die-hard user of #4 Vandorens, this mouthpiece is too open. But if I ever go down a strength in reed, it'll be on my short list.
