I have an M-13 as well as a RV 5 mouthpiece by vandoren. Is there a ranking of their mouthpiece based on bright to dark sound?

Both of them are on the bright side of Vandorens. On the dark side of the Force there is B45 B40 M30 for eg.

Nonprofessional here, Is there a way to tell what your particular M30 is pitched e.g. 440 or 442 the only marking on the mp is m30 engraved on the lower right of the table. If its concluded that I purchased a mp pitched in 442 what are my options. sincerely, confused

Vandoren mouthpieces usually play on 442, series 13 is pitched in 440.

FWIW--For my taste, I would not necessarily call the M13 a bright mouthpiece, although it IS more focussed to my ears than some of those more open models.

I agree with Sonicbang but it does differs from person to person. I've had some students that sounded on the dark side with an M 13, not so with the RV though. I've also heard some sound bright with the M 13 as well. ESP

You might consider the M30 Lyre. It has a similar feel to the 5RV Lyre, but has a much rounder, warmer sound.
