 washing polishing cloths

This is probably a crazy question but I have some silver polishing cloths that are rather nasty now from years of use. Is there a beneficial compound that i would leach out of them if I wasahed them? Should I just buy new ones? My first impulse was "throw them in the wash" but then I was worried

Thanks!

The polishing compound they're impregnated with will be washed out if you do.

They do work best when they're slightly damp (but not washed) and always keep them in a sealed bag after use.

If you've been using them for years there's unlikely to be any polish left in them anyway.

And an old t-shirt torn into rags will probably work just as well as an ancient silvercloth.

Just get some new ones - I replace mine every year, they're inexpensive around here and work the best when relatively new.

Thanks guys!

Now I have an excuse to go shopping for musical presents to myself along with the cleaning cloths! I had some from Marigaux that worked the best of any I've tried.
