I love it! -- although I must admit that I *have* done the first part of that scene at home (to a yard sale clarinet from long storage in someone's filthy wet basement -- but the clarinet was metal and I took the keys off first and did them separately...).

Reminds me of a the French fellow who blew bubbles through his clarinet in a big bowl of water at ClarinetFest in Vancouver.

Perhaps, an inverted snorkel technique... an extended technique that doesn't suck.

Back in the 1990s Clarinet Journal had an article about how Harpo Marx attached a bubble-blowing device to his clarinet!

Obviously I'm not going to get soap and water all over my clarinet, but if I get a small bowl with soapy water, dip my clarinet bell in it and then play a low E, will it work for blowing a bubble from the bell? Maybe without the bell would work better because of the smaller hole? Does anyone know or do I have to just try it myself to check? If this works I'll probably use it in a concert.
