 Measuring and trimming reed tips
Author: giffpa

I just started collecting tools for making reeds. Browsing the web I found several devices that could be used to measure reeds. There doesn't seem to be much information regarding this equipment. One of my questions is in regard to which is better, analog or digital?

Here's a list of some of the devices I found:

Perfecta Reed
Sylvac (several models)
Jeanné
Reeds 'n Stuff (analog and digital)
Uhl's RFG 82m

I haven't found many reed tip trimmers. The two I found are the Cordier and the Dilutis. I've heard mixed things about both. In addition to these, it seems Uhl had a prototype, but I haven't seen anything beyond that.

Thank you all for your insight,

Paul
