Hello, I am posting on behalf of my daughter, who will be auditioning in Evanston and Ann Arbor this coming winter. After the poor R13 Bb took another (thankfully minor) header this week, I realized we should probably line up some repair people in case anything happens during her audition trips. I would love to have names of people in these cities that do high quality work, and appreciate any help.
I can be reached at moganbaum@aol.com.
many thanks.

I can't give a repairman recommendation... but it sounds like your daughter needs a solid stand like a Blayman - noone can tip those over!

I've heard very good things about Eric Satterlee at Meridian Winds.

I would say that Okemos is a little far from Ann Arbor if you need emergency repairs. (Though it would be very convenient if your daughter was auditioning at Michigan State.) Also, I wonder if the Brannens take walk-ins.
I'd recommend a last-minute local tune-up right before your daughter leaves for the auditions to reduce the chance of a surprise. Should an emergency occur, and time permits, ask the local clarinet professor for a recommendation. In a real pinch, the schools (or clarinet professors) might be willing to provide a loaner.
Best regards,
jnk

Thanks to all for the advice. Yes, a tune-up before hand is definitely in the plan. We will not have our own car on these trips...don't trust my California driving in ice and snow. That's why I was wondering about very local technicians, people an easy cab ride away.
