A Spanish student of mine wants to research Bartok's relationship with Goodman in the genesis of the Contrasts.
Is there an obvious English language source?

Indeed there might be.
In my library I have three books about Goodman. Two are biographies and one is a large picture book that covers his long career. In all three the Bartok Contrasts are discussed. I will have a look and provide you with the details (title, author, publishing house, date, etc.). There also might be some good information in the jacket notes to the CD or the original 78 rpm recording (both of which I own as well).
You need to give me a few hours, however, as it is now only just before 4 am where I am here in Canada.
