 coffee and clarinets

My wife just pointed out an online ad which included the following:
"When Bodum took over a small clarinet factory in Normandy in 1982, it was not because of the fine orchestra clarinets they were producing but because of a relatively unknown coffee maker called the Chambord which they produced as well."

So, how does Leblanc fit into the corporate picture here?? No big deal, just wondering who really owns "who"........

Hi Dan and Maureen -I [also] don't know what to make of this "union . I made the same search, reading a couple of the returns, finding out nothing ! Perhaps someone thot that Normandy was a good buy for a clarinet devotee, and resold it to Leblanc. L's history might give a clue. I shouldn't think that drinking sweetened coffee would help playing . TKS for a mystery . Don

Thanx, Mark, Don

...just because that shop was IN Normandy doesn't mean it was THE Normandy factory...

I just took a look at my Chambord french press coffee maker, and, lo and behold, it turns out the metal housing holding the glass container is exactly the same design as my Bonade inverted ligature!!
