sorry i hope this doesnt sound dumb. is there any way to browse the threads on the board here by subject or some other type of division. it looks like you can only look at them in chronological order of when the last post came in...is there any other way to look through the threads in some other method of organization

You can do a specific search by the subject you are looking for.
1. Go to the top of the window you are currently in and enter the subject where it says, "Search Woodwind.org; then click "Go".
Make the subject you are looking for simple; for example, suppose you want to know what people think of a particular mouthpiece, just type in the brand and model name/number of the mouthpiece. If your question is more complicated, just keep it simple using "key words."
2. Scroll down the page that opens up after you clicked "Go" and check the bulletin boards that you want searched.
The subject you originally typed in will be see at the bottom of the list.
3. Click "Submit" and a list of threads will appear with the subject your are seeking.
This should help.

There are three non-overlapping archives: the Klarinet mailing list, the Clarinet board (this one) and the Keepers (containing material from the other two that has been judged to be particularly good). You need to check all three boxes to be sure of finding everything.

thanks guys.
if i just search the "woodwind.org" pages and dont click other boxes, it will search different web pages within woodwind.org, but not any user made threads, correct?

That's correct.
For searching the bboards I did add an option a while back to just list one post per thread (a user suggestion).

Unique threads only (keywords may appear in other postings within these threads)

oh ok, gotcha, sorry about that, i misread what you said.
one last thing about 'searching", are you able to search for posts made by a specific poster (like if you wanted to search all of the posts you have made yourself or if you wanted to see what someone else has posted )
