 Praise for Buffet
Author: Roys_toys

I had the misfortune to suffer a crack in upper joint within warranty period on my new E 13, bought nearly 3 years ago.
Buffet supplied a new u/j , but that has just cracked.
They have now supplied me with a new E 13, with minimum fuss and I feel that I have been well treated.
Were all in the lap of the malign spirits who crack wood, so its reassuring to know that if it happens Buffet have demonstrated a sympathetic attitude and have taken immediate action.

I make the usual disclaimer of any connection with the company.

Yes, the Buffet warranty is good.

Selmer could learn from their example.

Or one could simply get a Ridenour clarinet and not worry about it at all! [rotate] [toast]

Glad you had a successful outcome. Buffet generally stands behind their gear.

"...Yes, the Buffet warranty is good. Selmer could learn from their example...."

To be fair, Selmer PARIS has replaced several cracked clarinets send back from here in NZ.

Perhaps the non-cooperation is with your local distributor?

Selmer does not have a published 5 year warranty against defects to the body of the horn. I don't recall Selmer's exact wording (haven't bought one in awhile) but I think they leave it open for case by case issues.

"I think they leave it open for case by case issues."

Perhaps my success is because of the way I present my case.
