Hello All -
Disclaimer - I work for Leblanc . . .
Yesterday we had Julian at the woodwind center in Elkhart where he did a quick concert for the staff.

I know my daughter will be skipping out of her classes at the studio at Western Michigan U to see Julian playing tomorrow in East Lansing at MSU. Her professor, Brad Wong, suggested it would be a good idea for her to attend, so she has his blessing. I envy her, as I would love to hear Julian, even in a master class environment.

Julian seems to make pretty frequent visits to the Leblanc factory and Backun shop... I missed the chance to meet him when he was at Morrie's during Summer. At late August however, I had a chance to see Morrie in that promotional event that Tom Lee and Conn Selmer hosted there.
EDIT: Scott, were you the Conn-Selmer rep. that was present?

We bring Julian in whenver we can and since he is touring the US right now, it was convenient. I regret it wasn't me in Vancouver last August. I was there in July and again in October. You likely met Brian Engstrom. He is our sales manager for Canada (fine saxophone player as well!).

Very cool. I did my undergrad with Brad at WMU. Great teacher!
I'm sure your daughter will enjoy the class. We tried to get Julian into Western but schedules didn't work out.

Disclaimer - I'm a crab and a nit picker.
Julian is starting to seem more like a traveling salesman than a performer....

The irony is strong in that comment... yet...
the same could be said ultimately of any traveling performer, for they must peddle themselves and their music.
