G'day all,
Just for the hell of it I have just finished running the "name your equipment" thread through a lexical analyser.
The results - and remember these are just word counts and names I have recognised going through them - are:-
Buffet 209
Selmer 169
Leblanc 68
Yamaha 61
Conn 14
Ridenour 10
Howarth 9
Malerne 6
Eaton 5
Rossi 4
Marigaux 3
Would anyone have suspected results other than these ?
Snowy

Do these numbers also include the "alternate" spellings of certain manufacturer names?

Yamaha is already on the list.
I'm a little surprised that there aren't more Leblanc and Yamaha players.

Oops - my bad. Mr. Left Brain can't deal with lists that aren't alphabetized.

What about an oddball like me with a Buffet Moennig barrel on a Yamaha clarinet?

still haven't seen Boosey & Hawkes - and we know there are some folks out there with B&H horns. Also don't see Couesnon, or Martin or MartinFreres and a whole bunch of others. Also does this include those of us who have multiples? - eg I have 3 Selmers, a Besson, 3 B&H, an old Buffet, 2 Couesnons and a Pedler.....oh yes and an old Oehler of unknown provenance.....

That's about what I would expect, more or less. Names that don't appear on the list are used in small numbers relatively speaking and only those that contributed to this list are mentioned. This is not a scientific listing but probably comes pretty close to the general use. ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com

I'm thinking some of us didn't list all of our stuff (although I thought I had - or was it another thread?) anyway thanks Snowy the results are, of course, unsurprising.
cheers
