Hi there people on the BBoard, I was wondering if you can provide some information on the correlation between the two?

I can't say that I've noticed any variation in pitch when I've used thicker or regular reeds. In years that I've made my own, I still make some, I've used different thickness of cane as well as with commercial reeds . ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com

Generally, harder reeds will be higher in pitch than softer. GENERALLY of course.

and I think that's because when playing the harder reed, one tends to bite and give more embouchure pressure, and thus sharper.

That might have something to do with it, but it's also generally true that if you increase the stiffness of an object, you increase its natural frequency of vibration (all other things remaining equal). So a stiffer reed of the same cut should, in theory, pull the clarinet's pitch sharp somewhat, even in the absence of "biting" (to what extent it does this, though, depends on a whole bunch of different factors).
