 Smallest Eb Clarinet Case
Author: saxo422

I'm looking for a really small Eb clarinet case. Anyone got ideas? I have a Buffet RC Eb clarinet (1 piece). The Attache case that comes with it is good, but a little bulky...my Bb pochette case is actually smaller than the Eb attache one. Any ideas? Thanks!!!

Hi saxo422:
My very old Buffet Eb "French-style" pouchette case is pretty small, works great, but doesn't allow room for any additional stuff (like xtra barrels or mpcs). It works great in my gig bag & it's made out of wood covered with leather. My guess is they don't make them anymore, but try eBay or Buffet Paris?

I'm not sure what the Yamaha Eb cases are like - I'd suspect they're reasonably compact and well laid out.

The Buffet case is too bulky and doesn't have enough storage due to the inefficient layout.

My Buffet pouchette case is about the size and shape of a flute/piccolo double case, in fact quite small. I use a flute/piccolo double case cover to store my xtra junk, so the case is just fine. Finding one might be the problem!

My Buffet Eb originally came in a case the same size as a single Bb case (black with leather edging around the lid and base with blue interior and a ribbon in the lid saying something like 'Buffet Crampon - the sweetest clarinets ever made' or similar) - but as it was in such bad condition and stank, I ditched it and bought a brand new R13 Eb case.

The Yamaha Custom series Eb comes in a tiny little French-style (similar to flute/oboe) case. Might be able to find one of those...Weiner Music, perhaps?

The bass bags single cases are the smallest I've come across here in the UK. They are tiny!
