hey i saw a video on youtube on tieing a shoestring ligature and it's good but for some reason i can never get it right myself. Can someone hear say how to tie a string ligature on paper? thx.

From the vid, it looks like you hold the beginning end with the knot against the back of MP and then your first loop goes over the end your holding down so that first wrap lays on top, holding the string in place.

At the end, you just lift the last loop up and feed the end of string under and pull tight.

If you ever tied guides on fishing rods, the ligature will be a piece of cake to do.

An alternative to the pictured one is to make a U shape out of the single "vertical" portion. The bend of the U can be placed either at the top or bottom of the mp. Start winding at the "open" end of the U and when you get to the closed end of the U run the "running" end of the string through it and pull the other end thus closing the loop and capturing the running end. This is the "Hangman's Knot" version.
