New Music For Clarinet

I want to introduce everyone in the clarinet community to a new organization I have launched, the Clarinet Commission Collective. The Clarinet Commission Collective is a project to help individual clarinetists pool their resources to commission works from major composers. The project mission is to involve as many people as possible in each commissioning project, to encourage local premieres and repeat performances, and to raise awareness of and access to new music for clarinet. Composers are selected by an Artistic Advisory Board comprised Larry Combs, Richard Hawkins, Alan Kay, Anthony McGill, and David Shifrin. The Artistic Advistory Board selected Paul Schoenfield as the first composer to receive a commission from the Clarinet Commission Collective. We will commission Mr. Schoenfield to write a fifteen minute work for clarinet and piano.
