Is it okay to get bore oil on the keys? Do I need to just worry about avoiding the pads?

Bore oil won't hurt the keys. Make sure you wipe it off completely.

You ARE using plant-based oils for your bore, aren't you? Something from the Doctor's Products, for example???

Nope. What I currently have is a bottle of bore oil from I believe, Yamaha. What SHOULD I be using? Also, should I be more concerned with oiling the inner part of the clarinet or the exterior?

Just make sure you put paper under the closed pads so you don't get oil on those pads. ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com

Bore oil won't damage the surface finish of the keys but can play havoc if it gets into the spindles and congeals - it is not a lubricant - and some formulations set into a glutinous lump.
You don't really need to oil the exterior of the wood so should not have to get it anywhere near the keys.

Speaking of bore oil...anyone have any preference...Naylor's formula or the Doctor's formula...really need to upgrade and having a hard time making a decision...

 Thanks.

I have had excellent results with the Doctor's GrenadOil. I haven't tried Naylor's.
