Hi All,
Hoping someone on here might be familiar enough with the 70's Noblets to confirm that some did come with a resin/ebonite barrell and bell?
I've just purchased a Noblet off eBay with a serial number A49XXX and the rounded Noblet logo with just the N in the circle above, which seems to place it as an early '75. The upper and lower joints are definitely wood, but the barrel and bell (which I can't seem to remove from the lower joint, but I don't want to force) appear to be "plastic", but still marked with the same Noblet logo (but no serial number). I'm trying to determine if these are original, or have been exchanged or replaced since manufacture.
Can anyone fill me in?
Thanks!

Yes, these Noblets are quite common in our music schools. Some have just the plastic (i.e. non-wood) barrel, others have both bell and barrel made of plastic.
My Noblet Artist (with the diamond logo) has a plastic barrel as well.

Hi R D - Congrats, I have an excellent-playing Noblet [N, oval, Paris, FRANCE {below} ] ser. # 44,9xx, wood, am not sure if bell is wood or plastic, looks much the same. Have 2 wood Noblet barrels, am not sure which is the orig. but both and some other barrels play equally well. Suggest you work carefully on removing the bell, perhaps get some tech help. Some methods have been discussed on this BB, so a Search might help also. Luck, Don
Thanx, Mark, Don

I have a Noblet Artist that came with a plastic barrel and wood bell. The same diamond logo is on all of the parts.
